Above the pines, below freezing, I flew.
After hiking to my destination in pure darkness, I could feel the energy of the morning starting to awaken the forest. The birds chirping in the distance was the only other sound aside from my boots crunching against the freshly frozen ground. The fog lifted as the sunrise slowly lit the mountain with a golden glow. As I took to the sky, I was met with a sight I could've only dreamed; A golden forest, lit by the sun and shadowed by the valley hills. Led by a lost, winding road, there stood Mount Hood, tall and bold in all her glory and kissed by the morning light.
