Therukoothu is a 2000 year old ancient folk art form, performed on the streets (Theru=Street, Koothu=Play). It is an informal dance structure, in which performances generally depict scenes from ancient epics such as Ramayana, Mahabharata and Tamil classical epics.
As an artist I could see the richness and cultural heritage in it that we are losing with time.
This is my humble attempt to etch this ancient art in the most modern platform. The idea to make them neon colored comes from the photographer of the reference - Amar Ramesh.
