A new beginning?

Sometime at the beginning of year 2112, three luminescent pyramids descended from the sky and settled in the middle of the giant desert covering what used to be the central United States. Shortly after, a bright pulsating orb appeared in their center and the pyramids started shooting intermittent rays of light into the sky. That mysterious phenomenon drew hundreds, then thousands of people, animated by a religious fervor for what came to be known as the Sky Pyramids.
