Comet Neowise Above Paxtons Tower

A photograph captured in the night of Saturday July 12 2020 - Sunday July 13 2020 featuring the comet Neowise shining above Paxtons Tower, a 17th century folly in the Carmarthenshire countryside of south west Wales.

Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) was a rare celestial visitor, visible in clear northern hemisphere skies for a few weeks in July 2020. During that month I travelled hundreds of miles in search of clear skies and photo opportunities, but this shot - just a few miles from my home - ended up being one of the best of the bunch.
