Piece #36 of 100
Portrait of a Dani leader. The Dani are an ethnic group found only in 1938 and living in the central highlands of West Papua (Indonesia). They remained until then technically still in the stone age. To stand out as leader, the warrior in the photo darkened his skin with a mixture of ash and pork fat.
