Piece #31 of 100
Portrait of a Dani women carrying the daily load of wood and food. The Dani are an ethnic group found only in 1938 and living in the central highlands of West Papua (Indonesia). They remained until then technically still in the stone age. The transport of heavy loads is performed largely by women who often wear on their head a bag of rope to carry heavy loads such as vegetables, children or even pigs.
