As a child, I used to spend every other summer in Andalusia, Spain. One night when I was very bored, counting geckos on the walls, I heard about a "show" in town... some folks were selling tickets to "La niña cabra" aka "the Goat Girl". I wanted a ticket but had no money left, so I sold all my gums and a few broken HotWheels to the kid next door. He got all happy yelling "Guay!!! Guay!!!" and I escaped through the night. When I got to the place, there were already a few folks there. They were all excited, chatting in Spanish (they talk very quickly). The whole street smelled like a mix of Spanish "colonia", fried octopus and jasmine flowers.
A very pretty midget lady was selling the tickets at the front door of an old tiny house. Her nails were long and sparkly and she was yelling "niña cabra, niña cabra!"
