Manipura

Manipura, or the solar plexus chakra, is associated with fire and the power of transformation. After years of chronic disease, this portrait was created at the onset of my healing journey, both in the physical and metaphysical planes. A seed of fire being relit in my belly and the blossoming of self-healing.

This composited self portrait was intentionally shot using the timed shutter release. Composing the shots in under ten seconds is a large part of the art process for me.
