In the times just before The Singularity, W3 Logistics introduced YellowBot to the world. Originally YellowBot was just an app. Their rival, Great Blue, concerned over the ever more popular YellowBot app, played some ruthless politics and secured an agreement from the World Governing Body, WGB, to have first bid on any future frequency bandwidth. It wasn't long before Great Blue had a government sanctioned world wide monopoly on wireless communication.
W3 was not without recourse. The Company did own the majority of fiberoptic networks, so to ensure that YellowBot maintained a competitive edge - you could simply buy anything from YellowBot and expect shipment within the hour. Millions of small bright yellow alcoves allowed anyone to place an order from just about anywhere. YellowBot was smart, with algorithms ready to spit out most frequent orders when users logged in.
How could anyone have foreseen that YellowBot would be the precursor to when AI took over the world...
