Several storefronts carried signs for formal wear rentals & I simply couldn't get past the juxtapositions of these fading images of immaculate white teens on empty dilapidated storefront windows. This formal wear rental shop also served as the town's computer repair shop and the location to have a baseball glove restrung.
The La Junta Collection is part of a larger documentary project called The Good Bones. I'm documenting the decaying Main Streets across America. It takes a comprehensive look at how Main Streets slowly bled out over the past decades & explores the community impact of such decay. The project also explores alternative economic theories & how we can make the “Good Bones” of these once-thriving towns viable again.
The collector of this NFT will receive Producer credits in the final production, slated for 2023-24 & a signed print shipped to the collector.
