Karl the Fog Passing Through

I wanted my first mint to be a meaningful and favorite of mine.

A late January morning in pre pandemic 2020. This particular morning was extra special as Karl the Fog greeted the city of San Francisco during an explosive colorful sunrise. Like many Bay Area photographers, we love chasing wild conditions. It is somewhat rare to have several conditions align in such a cohesive manner. I drove below and through the fog, to arrive upon a colorful lit sky with Karl leisurely gliding between buildings in the City by the Bay. It could not have been a more perfect start to the day. This was the only time I had ever witnessed conditions like this, and I have been chasing them ever since.
