Fortress

The iconic ridge of the mighty Denali. Rarely visible through a shroud of violent weather that clings to the peak, it took three days spent in the backcountry to get this shot, between sunset and a terrible storm. 22,000ft of ancient wisdom, rock and ice that can inspire courage and instill fear all at once. Watching the clouds soar across the ridge like water, I had the most overwhelming sense of how insignificant we really are... and how beautiful it is that we are here at all.
