Cuban Cigar

Multi-media painting weaved with rare 1950s 8mm film still, footage recorded in Cuba. Artist note: Cuban Cigar is a metaphor for hope through the emphasis of the small detail of light emanating from the cigar. In this work, I explore memory and abstraction by documenting cultural heritage to recall identity, emotionality and collective memory. This work is part of my Generations Series, which seeks to provide a metaphor of hope by handing down these collective memories to the next generations.
