Part 1 of a 3 image series shot in Winter of 2018-19. This was my first time on the Central Coast, in California, and I simply fell in love with it. The swell can be huge in the colder months, leading to some really dramatic moments. On this day in particular, massive waves were firing up and down the region, with some areas reaching 50+ feet. Still the largest surf I've seen. In Big Sur, where I took this, the mist often floats up near hills and cliffs, intensifying layers and depth.
