The Veiled Virgin

Veiled Virgins were young priestesses who were serving the temple of Vesta. they guarded the sacred flame in the temple, if the fire died out, the chief priest would accuse one of the virgins of unchastity and sent her to the underground chamber for the rest of her life. This is an example of the totalitarian and repressive traditionalism. Traditions that we gave Value, that through the history has caused suffocation, suffering and humiliation, and we still see it in many cultures.
