Puddle: Flesh Puddle

Self portrait video created frame-by-frame through custom lenses made of water. 1080 x 1350, 360 frames, 2021

This self portrait is made through a custom process where I photograph people through water drops forced into channels with hydrophobic resists on glass, forming a secondary lens between camera and subject. The “Water Portrait” is then animated into a moving organism that reflects the process of its own creation.

The owner also receives a preliminary painted sketch from my notebook.
