The island in the sky

This is where the stars meet the Earth and where the biosphere almost leaves the mineral grounds. Only scares specialized vegetation can grow at 2300m of altitude in the barren volcanic soil of La Palma island (Canaries). Most are low bushes but here and there you can meet the rare, fascinating, mind-boggling and endemic Tajinaste flower (Echium wildpretii). I had been looking for this composition for days as the plant is endangered, and it is seen here with the milky way above the clouds!
