Most times, the aurora borealis only manifests itself in monochrome green, which is still very beautiful. However, when the auroral activity picks up during high geomagnetic activity, the aurora explodes into the whole color palette, from green to red to blue to pink, and even yellow and orange! Here's a timelapse compilation that I took over the past year in the fjords of northern Norway, as the aurora put on the most insanely colorful shows I've seen to date.
