Goldfish in ancient oriental cultures symbolized creative instincts, spiritual abundance. When they were locked up in glass bowls, the quality and length of their life deteriorated. I took this self-portrait at the end of the quarantine, a period in which I found myself alone and without my camera. When this was over, along with the freedom of movement, I gained the freedom to create again. For the artist, 'getting out the bowl' means freeing the instincts and going back to creating in freedom.
