I took this on a trail called Craggy Pinnacle outside of Asheville, NC. It was a foggy October morning and the leaves were at peak color. Whenever I make this hike, I take a moment to pause at this one particular tree. There's something about the way its roots wrap around the rocks, and its branches seem to unravel from its twisted trunk that draws me in. The combination of the morning mist and burning autumn colors made this an unforgettable moment.
