This piece is from my series on The Green Dress. A mother tries on her daughter's thrifted green dress. Through this simple act she is tied to her daughter and to the new country that she emigrated to. This dress was sold in Canada by a female designer in 1942, years before she ever emigrated to it. This dress has clearly been loved and is in a home where it will be lovingly kept and handed-down further still.
