The shot of a lifetime. As an aurora guide at the Aurora Borealis Observatory in Arctic Norway, we owned reindeers free to roam in a huge enclosure. For 3 years, I had been trying to catch the animal while under a big auroral explosion, but all the conditions need to align! I stayed for hours immobile in the snow by -20C, took about 1000 pictures. Only 3 came back sharp enough, including one as the aurora exploded into incredible shapes and colors! This is probably my most famous shot to date!
