Blocks: Rising Blocks #1

This animated painting uses the blocks from:

Rising Blocks - 30 x 40 inch acrylic/canvas, 2021

I stacked the 12 blocks in the same orientation, then created a new layout with the single animations staggered so no block is the same on a given frame.

A seething energy builds through the animation while keeping the spirit of the original painting. The color palette reverses the usual progression of lighting and shadows to a certain degree.
