Blessed Star Sailor - SR71

“Exploration is in our nature. We began as wanderers, and we are wanderers still." Carl Sagan, Cosmos.

The SR-71 Flight suit protected pilots of the Blackbird from the extreme pressures of supersonic speeds at high altitudes.

The SR71 was developed in tandem with Project Mercury, with each iteration of the designs building on the foundations laid by the other.

This suit marks the point where NASA moved away from the militarization of space, focusing on science and the quest for knowledge.
