Marmi di Carrara: 2008, Calacatta Gold – Kitchen Countertop

"Marmi di Carrara (The Carrara Marbles) presents the five varieties of marble that have been quarried from the Apuan Alps in the last millennia. The series catalogs the change in use and valuation over the course of the last two-thousand years: the titles of each piece are structured by date, marble type, and standard application of the times. Even as fragmentary digital objects, Carrara marble carries a feeling of permanence, rarity, and exorbitance."
