The legends of Greek antiquity, brought to us by Homer and Herodotus, tell of a tribe of Amazons-warrior maidens who once lived on the shores of the Black Sea, "in the wilds of Scythia far away." There was no place for men in their kingdom. Brave and ruthless, they fought against the Greeks at the walls of Troy. Is it a legend that has real grounds, or is it an idle fairy tale?
