Great Wall

Infrared photograph of the Great Wall of China.

Piece 3 of 4 of ‘Infrared Icons: Part I’, an infrared series of iconic places around the world.

Each photograph is taken with a camera that captures infrared light, a spectrum the human eye cannot see. The camera records the glow in plants that represents their photosynthetic interaction with the sun.

The work strives to illuminate the importance of human perception and serves as a commentary on its limitations.
