The skull is a recurring character in my street art work and murals. As in Japanese art, the skull symbolizes impermanence and change. Intentionally primitive in execution, this piece represents a collision of the ancient and the future. The style is influenced by the early 20th century animation of the Fleischer Brothers, which in its day, also represented a collision of timeless animist sensibilities and the modern technology of moving pictures.
