KSENIA #3

This picture is part of my series of poems and marvels and is showing the beauty of Ksenia from Kasachstan. Ksenia and I wanted to create something poetic but also a bit mystical. We had the idea of using these plants that look a little bit like „utopia“. At the first day we went outside of St. Petersburg looking for the plants we needed to create the set. After that we spend half a day building the set before we started with taking pictures for the next 3 days which lead into a little series of 8 images.

Short after the photo shoot this picture was exhibited in Trieste/Italy in a prestige’s arts gallery as part of my solo show. It became „The picture“ that received the most attention from all 35 pictures exhibited.

The picture was taken on Kodak black and white film with a wooden large format camera.
