For an artist, there's no stronger motivation in the world to make art than the idea that one day one must die. Because creating an artwork means leaving a piece of oneself to the world, a fragment of one's soul, something that will continue to exist even when existence is no longer our business. Each artistic creation is a form of "Memento Mori" and at the same time a poetic challenge to death itself.
