The Protector

This piece is an animation of my original oil painting on canvas from 2020.

I felt inspired to create this painting during the Corona virus lockdown whilst residing in Berlin, Germany. This is a self portrait which captures the moods, challenges and fear I faced during this period, and the dragon is representative of an invisible guardian.

I had a lot of disruption whilst painting it, trying to motivate myself at different times of day and night, feeling relaxed or frustrated, and trying to stay hopeful. This was all a new experience.
