Blink and you'll miss it

On July 2nd 2014, with little knowledge in photography, a DSLR camera, and a plastic bag to protect it from the rain; I took an image that changed my life forever.

During an intense thunderstorm I decided I would try and capture an image of lightning from downtown Brooklyn. For about 3 hours I struggled with little to no luck; The visibility was just too low and my camera was getting soaked in the rain. Just as I was ready to call it a quits, something magical began to happen. The air became very calm and the rain began to stop. I watched as the sky quickly erupted into and orange glow of the sun, while the night set in around it. Out of no where a massive strike of lighting hit the World Trade Center right as I had pressed the shutter button on my camera. When the image appeared on my screen I was in shock.
