JUSTHIS SAMSARA

JUSTHIS SAMSARA, 2021 GLB model

JUSTHIS’s “Samsara” combines the logo of Samsung Electronics and the frequently spoken word in Buddhism or Hinduism, ‘samsara,’ which refers to the endless cycle of death and rebirth. Below the logo lies a lotus flower which is plated with fancy decorations. When we see a lotus flower once in a while, we usually remind ourselves of a flower that survives in filthy ponds, paddy fields, or mud. But the truth is, the lotus flower has been perceived as resembling the Gentleman since the old times as it blossoms a large and spotless flower wherever it is.

“What, are you trying to halt the motion of her whirling wheel? Dimmest of fools that you are, you must realize that if the wheel stops turning, it ceases to be the course of chance.” (Boethius, The Wheel of Fortune 2, Chap. 1, p.20)
