Διώνυσος

The worshippers of Dionysus made their alliance with this god in mountainous areas where there were no humans. After drinking wine or other sacred drugs, the participants in the orgy fell into an ecstatic state, dancing to mesmerizing sounds. In doing so, they felt as one with the god.
