Momma had made me so delicately. She chiseled my hands and feet, A pair of puckered lips, Soft swells for cheeks, Adorned me in the finest silks. She ladened my eyes with polished glass.
She‘d kept me in a box. She’d take me out, Straighten my frills & brush my hair. Then she'd lay me back. So the box became my world. A soft little girl made for a world of eight corners. Momma had made me so delicately.
And then everything came tumbling down, When momma left me by the window. The hours went by & what momma called 'sky' grew dark. It bloomed with a million shiny speckles. Glass eyes imbibed another world through their fish-eyed lens.
I felt little wet beads bobble down my cheeks. So these are 'tears'. Glass eyes in a glossy pool of tears. Wet cheeks crackled the polish. Momma had made me so delicately, hadn't she?
