As a bored kid in elementary school, counting away the minutes until the bell, I became obsessed with mechanical pencils and graph paper. The perfect square grid the paper provided were my yet to be discovered computer screen pixels and gateway to drawing simple shapes to create complex patterns.
The Simple Shapes series hopes to capture that fond analog memory in the digital world by creating complex but soothing patterns and transitions using only simple 2 dimensional shapes.
06 - Lines (II)- The sheer brute force that the iterative process, made possible by computers, provides, allows for the creation of things we perhaps otherwise wouldn't conceive of. It's in this iterative process that I get lost experimenting and perfecting. This is 240 lines oscillating around the perimeter of a hexagon.
