As photographers, we often aren't the ones in front of the lens. Our craft is usually rather to capture scenes and moments for others. On certain rare occasions, I find myself in a very unique headspace. Pushing my creative boundaries by adding myself as an element.
I knew upon arriving at the beach this night that I wanted to use the lifeguard tower under the stars for a composition; But after taking a few shots the scene felt empty. My mind ran through ideas until I came upon the memory of me as a little kid, sitting in a tree getting lost in the thousands of stars in the sky. Immediately, I knew this was the perfect moment to recreate that memory in a creative way. After setting my tripod, I climbed the slippery tower, wet from the crisp nights dew. Aligning myself atop the edge, engulfed by a sea of stars, I snapped the shot.
This image holds a special piece of me, so I have written a poem that the collector will receive upon purchase. I will also include a 16x24in. signed print.
