“An arriving transport slows down as it reaches its destination - an enormous space based city - orbiting a far distant sphere.”
This piece is a great representation of my ever intensifying desire to add greater and greater details as my mouse painting series came to a crescendo. There are many tiny features and nuanced effects in this piece, it’s quite trippy for me to look back at it now.
Interestingly; “Arrival” - painted in early to mid 2002 - had a number of different mediums in its creation. The arriving vessel was a scanned in pencil sketch, the planet’s atmosphere is painted outwards from a radical sunset photograph and the large space station started as a 3D block model made in Maya.
I love this piece still - it looks amazing in a large format.
