Gyumri

WHAT IS GYUMRI? Gyumri is the second-largest city in Armenia.By the end of the 19th century, when the city was known as Alexandropol, it was one of the largest cities of Russian-ruled Eastern Armenia with a population similar to that of Yerevan. It was renamed to Leninakan during the Soviet period.

WHY I CALLED THIS PIECE GYUMRI? This digital painting is inspired by my memories when i visited Gyumri, i was 6 years old (24 years ago) Gyumri was different, magical and strange! she was alive! she was breathing! she was crying and laughing! at the same time i saw on her beautiful face light and darkness!
