Sunrise at Lake Matheson was muted with low cloud and mist.

I had been hoping for a view of New Zealand's tallest mountain, Aoraki/Mount Cook across the lake. After trekking into location and as daylight approached it was apparent my capture of the mountain and its reflection at sunrise was not going to happen.

I moved position a few times as more light illuminated the scene. The local mist thinned and this alluring scene in front of me appeared. A beautiful moment in nature.

No sunrise mountain reflection, but happy with the result nevertheless.
