This night at Castle Hill in the Canterbury high country, was certainly one to remember.
A good mate and I shot till dawn all around the rocks as its not often the snow sticks and conditions are this perfect here. In my usual rush to get out the door, I forgot my walking crampons so fell on the ice more times than I can count (the bruises were amazing), it was -10 degrees Celsius, which is next level cold for this soft West Coaster, I drove 4 hours in dodgy conditions and didn't get a wink of sleep for 36 hours. I got home just as my husband needed to head off to work, so he handed over our then 9 month old baby, gave me a peck on the cheek and went on his merry way, while I stood there holding Ridge, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. It was a bit of rough day to say the least but worth every single second after I downloaded the files to start editing. For skies like this, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.
