The Legendary Deity Of Nyabingi

Nyabingi is 17th century mythical goddess who was regarded by Rwandans, Ugandans and Tanzanians as life giver. She was believed to possess the power of universal life and granting peace in the east of Africa. Deity Nyabingi originated in Rwanda where her spirit was worshipped through a medium who was in the communication with the spirit of Nyabingi. No one has seen Nyabingi nor came into possession with her spirit in the civilized society after 18th century.
