REGIONAL RESOURCE TOURISM 3rd project
This is The Somen, a food produced in Shodo-Island, Kagawa in Japan. Somen is a thin noodles made from wheat. It is mainly eaten in Asia.
I went on a bicycle trip to this island in May this year.
There were beautiful rice fields and clean water flowing up the mountain at an elevation of 250 meters.
And the Somen craft factory was at the top of it. I thought the Somen fluttering in the wind was very beautiful.
The old lady who welcomed me had a lot to teach me.
To dry Somen, we use a drying machine called a "Hata" like the one in this piece.
Thanks to the sesame oil produced in Shodo-Island and the clean water drawn from the mountains, we can make delicious Somen.
Being bored of eating Somen every day since I was a child.
She taught me a lot with her pretty smile.
If you go to Shodo-Island, Japan, you should also visit Please go to “Funaba Somen.” It's a very charming place.
