Ordinances and Angels I

Ordinances and Angels I (2021) is one of two films re-envisioning the photographic body of work ‘Ordinances and Angels’, with sound by the composer and musician Úna Keane.

With a making intent to ‘look again’ at traditional faith groupings, female form and decorum in worship practice and address a representational gender gap, Ordinances and Angels I extends ideas present within the original body of work. Connecting into the universality of prayerfulness within the images, Úna Keane composes piano-driven, rhymical synced soundscapes evoking an on-earth reverential.

The film Ordinances and Angels I incorporates nine out of twenty images from the original body of work including the collected Untitled#02 awarded RDS Taylor Art Award. Print works have exhibited internationally
