More than 7,839 women have been murdered or abused in Turkey in the last 20 years. Last year, for the first time in the history of Turkish new media art, I created a data painting by placing the data of some of these events, which were reflected in the press, in Peter Paul Rubens' work drawn between 1611-12 and depicting a biblical story in which people were massacred. I have made this painting , which is chaotic enough on its own, deformed with a pool of particles formed by the sound data of these women in pain.
This artwork contains voice data from the murder of Emine Bulut, the murder of Aleyna Çakır, the mothers of martyrs and Saturday mothers, the cry of cancer patient Dilek Özçelik, that is, some women whose suffering is reflected in the press.
