After months of introspection, I finally understand what my photography goal has been all along: to capture peaceful human moments in unbelievable scenes created by the earth.
Why? The beauty of the natural earth has been life-saving for me. When I disconnect and truly take in the paradoxically simple yet unbelievably complex workings of the natural earth, I am finally at peace. The impermanence of it all becomes clear; the earth has been putting on these shows for its entire existence. Before cars, skyscrapers, and fancy houses; before technology was embedded into every aspect of our lives; these were the moments.
You are here. You are alive. The waves spill past you; the wind embraces you. The heaping mountain of unfathomably colorful trees dances alongside you. Time stops. You are one with the earth. Nothing else matters.
These are the moments.
