Born from Honey

A once in the lifetime photo opportunity to capture a Honeybee emerging from the honeycomb in which it was born.

I spoke with a local Bee keeper who allowed me access to his hives. I donned the full Bee suit, which, was at least 3 sizes too large for me and began to photograph them.

It was an incredibly difficult task, the mask to the suit blurred most of my vision and blocked most of the viewfinder from my eyes, plus the gloves made it difficult to press any buttons.

I began to photograph the bees as they interacted with each other and noticed some were emerging from the chambers inside the honeycomb. I was witnessing the birth of A Honeybee! Amazing.
