Revisiting my early projects is a lot of fun for me. It's a great measuring stick for how far my artistic skills have progressed over the years. Sometimes I want to rework a project after only a few years, but sometimes it takes decades.
One of my earliest abstracts was created using a 2D plugin that simulated a "3D" woven texture. My fans have long been asking me to revisit it but I prefer to work in 3D now and weaving in 3D is a lot more complicated. Earlier this year I was working on learning Blender and discovered a way to model woven geometry. It was too good an opportunity to pass up.
This piece didn't turn out quite like the original and I decided, in the end, to give it a different title (the word "Fabrica" means "to craft").
It is currently my highest rated abstract render.
