Rainy Night

A personal work which marked a milestone for me as an artist. It was the first time I challenged myself to create an image I saw purely from memory.

After being caught in a typhoon on a summer night in Tokyo, I witnessed a women standing in the rain. The heavy wind and rainfall didn't affect her determination of why she was there. After some time a man approached her and their faces lit up with joy when they saw each other. The image stuck with me and I painted it once home.
