Perfect Alignment

Whether it’s picking up a new hobby, new skill, or traveling to a new place, my goal each year is to try something new. This particular year, I decided to take a solo photography camping trip for the first time. Disconnected from my family, friends, and the internet, I sat in this location for 6 hours, alone with my thoughts, just creating images. When the Milky Way finally appeared behind the peak, the moment was surreal. After weeks of research and days of scouting, I just felt grateful that everything aligned perfectly and was able to take in the whole experience.

Lassen Volcanic National Park is one of the few places in California that is dark enough for stargazing. I’ve experienced Milky Way in other places around CA, but experiencing it in Lassen Volcanic National Park was a truly different experience. With countless stars and the biggest Milky Way that I’ve witnessed, it was an out of this world experience.
